The Bradley Line
Research on this line began in 1994 after a "Good Fortune" programme on BBC1, hosted by David Frost,
broadcast a story about land in America being reputedly owned by the descendants of a Robert Edwards.
This then became knows as the "Edwards Millions"

A family meeting was arranged
at which a fund was set up to cover expenses. At this meeting we were told
that it had been passed down for generations that there was money in the family in America, and that
"it won't
come in my day, but it should come in yours."

It was thought at this time that the earliest confirmed relation, Dorothy Edwards, was sister to the person who originally owned the land, Robert Edwards, but  our early research soon discounted this as Robert was born in 1716 and Dorothy in 1778. So although they may well be related, brother and sister they were not.

Several members of the family then descended on the Shrewsbury Family History Centre
where documents were perused and every census return they had on file was scanned looking for the two names we had confirmation of..... John Jones and Dorothy Edwards.

We had no idea at this point when they were born or where or when they married or what children they had, although we did know that there was a connection with Llynamynech.
An Edwards Millions Newsletter Information Service was set up by Philip Berrill, a B.B.C. researcher, which gave the background information to this story.

A meeting was also arranged by him at Kenilworth on 25th June 1995 for all interested Edwards descendants in the United Kingdom. This meeting was so well attended  that a second "overspill" meeting was held in the evening.

Philip Berrill also arranged an escorted visit to New York from 19th - 23rd October 1995 but none of our family joined the trip.

The final paragraph of page four of the document by the GLAMORGAN RECORDS OFFICE  sums up my opinion and attitude to the "Edwards Millions" to perfection...............
